About the Project: The Casey Paradise Tiny Home is not only a charming getaway but also a symbol of the historical significance of the land it stands on. This land, owned by the Casey family since right after the era of slavery, is a testament to their enduring connection to our community. It was built in honor of the Casey family and the siblings of Victoria Casey McDonald, serving as a living testament to our shared history.
To elevate this legacy even further, we are planning to adorn the tiny home with a captivating mural by the talented artist Broderick Flanigan. This mural is not just a work of art; it is a testament to the resilience and contributions of the black community of Jackson County. What makes this project particularly special we are trying to get the involvement of the youth from Ellerna Bryson Forney's youth group, who will actively participate in the mural's creation, learning valuable artistic and teamwork skills in the process.
Our Funding Goal: To make this project a reality, we are seeking to raise $2,500 to $3,500. These funds will cover the necessary supplies, compensation for the artist, and support the participation of the youth group. Your contribution would be instrumental in achieving this goal and ensuring the mural becomes a beacon of our community's history and aspirations.
